Athames & Bolines
Athames are a knife or sword-shaped tool to be used in spellwork and while working magic. Athames are rarely sharpened, as they are symbolic, and should not be used to actually cut anything. Some of the athames that we sell are sharpened for dual use as an athame and a boline, and they are noted as sharpened in their description. Athames represent the male energy needed when creating a balanced altar. The styles range from simple to highly ornate. Unlike athames, bolines are usually sharp and are used to cut plants and other items when needed for magic work. Bolines are usually blessed with intention before use and are used in ritual harvesting and collecting of spell items.
