Altar tiles (or altar patens) are symbolic in nature and are used on the altar itself, We carry many sizes and styles of altar tiles, and offer a variety of materials, including wood, brass, silver plated, marble and soapstone. I have used a thick wooden altar tile to rest a large candle on, but you can simply let it be decorative and serve as a reminder of your path.
